Bei der letzten Ausfahrt am Sonntag haben wir auf der Rückfahrt gegenan segeln müssen. Dabei stellten wir fest, dass es auf Ekle ihre Töpfe tröpfelt. Panik bei der Köchin, Salzwasser hat im Schiff nichts zu suchen und schon garnicht auf den Töpfen der Köchin. Spurensuche war angesagt. Als schuldigen machten wir die Genuaschotleiste auf der Backbordseite aus. Alles Schrauben waren durch das Deck geschraubt, aber nicht von unten abgedichtet.Also ran an den Feind. Schrauben losgedreht, was nicht bei allen so einfach war, eine ist abgebrochen und musste neu angefertigt werden. Passende Holzunterlagen angefertigt, viel Skikaflex Dichtmasse zwischen Deck und der Schraube/Unterlage und angeschraubt. Siehe da, diesen Störenfried der Küchenchefin haben wir beseitigt. Beim Test fanden wir dann noch 3 alte Löcher der Teakdeckverschraubung die auch noch undicht waren, es tropfte noch auf die Bratpfannen. Diese Löcher habe ich mit Glasfasermatte und Epoxiedharz zugeklebt. Ein weiterer Test zeigte Erfolg. Kein Wasser mehr auf die Werkzeuge der Köchin. Friede an Bord ist wieder eingekehrt.
On our last test drive we had to sail against the waves back to the port. Here we discover that the deck was leaking on top of the pots and pans of the chief cook Elke. This could not be tolerated by Elke. So we found that the bolts from the foresail rail which has been bolted through the deck where leaking.we have loosen the bolts an found no sealing was used during installation. Loosing the bolt was not that easy, one even break and has to be changed. We attacked the issue with large supports from wood fitting nicely in the corner and used lots of Sikaflex sealing material. After the test we could report dry ship at this point. We found 3 more small leakages from the old screws of the teak deck. This I sealed with glass mats and epoxy glue. So now the compartment of pots and pans is water sealed again, the chief cook is happy and freedom on the boat.
