Ruhige Tage im Hafen / Quied days in the port

Seit Mittwoch den 05.09. sind wir in der Marina Puerto El Rompido am Steg festgemacht. Ein wirklich schönes Plätzchen ist das hier. Ruhig und das Ambiente ist so nach unserem Geschmack. Hier haben wir einen Segelmacher vor Ort, der unser ramponiertes Basansegel repariert hat. Ich konnte ein paar Schweißarbeiten an der Befestigung für die Passatbäume durchführen. Der automatische Schalter der Bilgepumpe war kaputt, ein Kabel war abgetrennt. Ein neuer war noch an Bord, so dass wir das auch repariert haben. Zwei Mastrutscher am Grosssegel mussten angenäht werden. Alles Kleinigkeiten die unsere Aufmerksamkeit fordern. Elke hat mich Banausen natürlich durch die Prärie gescheucht, damit keine Langeweile aufkommt. Morgen fahren wir mit dem Auto nach Sevilla um uns die Stadt anzusehen. Ich war vor 30 Jahren mal dort, Elke noch nie. Nicht weit von hier ist der Ort Huelva, von dem Christoph Columbus startete um einen neuen Weg nach Indien zu finden, was ja in der karibik endete. Aus diesem Grund heissen die Inseln auch West-Indies.

Since 05.09. we are in the marina Puerto El Rompido on the jetty. A real nice place her. Quiet and an ambience we like. Here we have a sail maker near by to repair our mizzen sail. I did some welding on the spinnaker pools attachment. The automatic switch for the bilge pump was damaged, a cable was rotten. A new one has been on board, so the repair could be done. Two sliders for the mainsail have to be stitched on. All this small items has to be taken care of. Elke pushed me for a long walk through the marshes to keep me busy. Tomorrow we will drive with the car to the town of Sevilla for a site seeing tour. Since we are not far from the place Christoph Columbus has started to explore the new way to India, witch end up in the Caribbean Islands, and also called West Indies. We have to see this place, do we have the course to the Caribbean Islands in the near future.
