Wir sind im Hafen von Tazacorte auf der Kanaren Insel La Palma. Der Hafen liegt an der Westseite der Insel. Gestern Morgen um 05:00 rasselte der Wecker. Elke hatte sich mal wieder bei der Einstellung geirrt. Was soll´s, da wir schon wach waren wurde erst einmal in Ruhe gefrühstückt. Beim ersten Büchsenlicht hieß es Leinen los. Es musste die Nordostecke von Teneriffa umrundet werden, das kann bei Nordostpassat ein ziemlicher Stress sein. Auch aus diesem Grund sind wir früh los um die Windarme Zeit zu nutzen. Außerdem ist es zur Zeit nicht so windig. Wir hatten Glück und sahen einen schönen Sonnenaufgang über der Insel Gran Canaria. Die Rundung der Nordseite klappte auch ohne Probleme. Einen letzten Blick konnten wir noch auf den wolkenfreien Teide werfen, dann wurden die Segel gehisst un ab ging es nach La Palma. Der Wind war nicht der stärkste heute und wir mussten die Genua, das Großsegel, das Besanstagsegel und den Besan setzen um ein gutes Etmal zu bekommen. Fahrt machten wir so zwischen 3-6 Knoten je nach Laune des Wundes, der von schräg achter blies. Diese Segelstellung behielten wir bis zur Nordküste von La Palma bei. Das war Kaffesegeln wie es im Buch steht. Nach der Umrundung der Nordwestecke von La Palma war dann der Wind weg, wir waren im Windschatten des Nordostwindes. Der Motor musste her und die letzten 10 SM bis zum Hafen arbeitete der eiserne Gustav. In dem kleinen Hafen von Tazacorte liegen wir ruhig.Hier bleiben wir mal 2-3 Tage und erkunden die Insel. Hier ist auch die letzte Gelegenheit im Hafen zu tanken. Wir wollen ja mit vollen Tanks weiter nach Hierro und auf die Cap Verden segeln.

We are in in the port of Tazacorte on the island La Palma. The port is located on the west side of La Palma. On Saturday morning at 05:00 the bell was ringing. Elke has made an error while adjusting the alarm clock. But it do not matter we took our breakfast in the dark. Soon as the day came up we loose the lines and quit the port. While we motored north to round the Island of Teneriffa to set course to La Palma we where blessed with a spectacular sun sise over the Island Gan Canaria. We sailed so early in the morning to avoid the north east passat to round the northern tip of Teneriffa. After we passed the north tip of the Island we could have the last view on the Volcano Teide without clouds. Now we had the upcoming wind from the back and we could set sails. Due to the moderate wind we where able to set all sails up including the Mizzen staisail. We could log between 3-6 knots in a moderate see. This was coffee sailing pure without stress. The sails stay the whole day and the following night in the same way, no change. On the Northwest corner of the Island La Palma the wind completely eased up and we have to start the motor to drive to the port. It was only 10 SM from the corner to the port of Tazacorte. In the port of Tazacorte we are save and the port is very quiet. We will stay 2-3 days here to see the island. Millions of Banana trees planted on the Island.
